Upvalley Family Partnership
SHPFA is proud to announce a new partnership with the Upvalley Family Center, who will be providing parenting classes in Spanish to some of our families this year. The Triple P Parenting Program will include various topics, discussions, activities, and presentations with helpful tools and strategies for our parents. Our families had the opportunity to attend the first presentation on September 25th, and were very engaged in the discussion with other parents and teachers. We look forward to working with the Family Center and building the parent education opportunities for our families.
SHPFA Welcomes Elvia Olivera & Angelica Palma To the Board
September 23, 2019
We are excited to announce two new board directors who were voted in on September 9, 2019. Elvia Olivera is a parent of two children, Miranda 7, and Fernando 5, who were part of the SHPFA program and attend the St. Helena Cooperative Nursery School. She is very passionate about families getting the education and tools to help their children become successful. Angelica Palma is a parent of two children Valeria 8, and Leonardo 5 . Leonardo was part of SHPFA last year and attended Wee Care Childcare where he was a happy and successful student. She strongly believes in Preschool For All, and feels that the input from a Latina mother who was part of this experience would be extremely valuable.
Our organization is committed to having representation from our St. Helena Primary School, St. Helena Unified School District, families who are currently in the program, and former alumni families. We believe that our parents bring a unique and valuable perspective that is critical to the continued improvement of our program. We also believe that we are helping empower our current and former parents to take more of an active leadership role in the community.
Rotarians and Preschool Parents Celebrate in the Park
September 10, 2019
SHPFA is grateful for the continued support from the St. Helena Rotary Club. Over the past four-years they have contributed over $70,000, which includes the $27,500 that was raised at the end of a two-month fundraising campaign. Members of the St. Helena Rotary Club, parents, and children from St. Helena Preschool For All gathered for a picnic potluck on September 7,2019 at Crane Park. Rotarians were excited to meet many of the families who are benefiting from their fundraising efforts, and parents and children were able to share their positive experiences with them. Our organization would also like to recognize the Rotary club and their sponsors Grace Episcopal Church, Sunshine Foods, Joice Beatty Scholarship Fund, an anonymous donor, and Jennifer Lamb who matched individual donations from the generous community.

Summer Swim Lessons
July 1, 2019
St. Helena Preschool For All is thrilled to be able to offer our participating preschoolers and their families the opportunity to learn how to swim this summer. Children and their siblings enjoyed swim lessons in partnership with the St. Helena Unified School District. There were nineteen participants: nine preschoolers and ten older siblings enrolled in the two-week sessions. The majority of students could not swim and had never taken swim lessons before, their parents were very excited about the progress made with the amazing swim instructors and will continue to enroll their children through the summer. We will continue to provide this opportunity to our families free of costs all thanks to the generous funding that was provided by the Roger J. Trinchero Family Foundation.
A Continued Partnership
June 19, 2019
It is with tremendous appreciation that we recognize the St. Helena Unified School District in its continued commitment to early childhood education for all children in our community. The District has been a vital partner in the growth and stability of our organization and recently has given a generous donation to cover half the cost of tuition for the 2018-2019 preschool year. We are truly grateful to have them as a partner as we continue to prepare and educate our preschool families for the transition into our public schools. We truly believe that, both the child and parents who have been a part of our program have the tools, experience, and knowledge to be successful in the future.
A Commitment to Early Learning

It is with great pleasure and appreciation that our organization and families acknowledge the Roger J. Trinchero Family Foundation for their contribution and support of our program. The foundation has generously committed their support for the next four years and we want to express how grateful and lucky we are to have Roger and the foundation behind us.
Their contribution has already began to positively impact our families in the program by providing additional hours and days and we are excited to offer our children the opportunity to continue to attend their preschool through the summer for the first time. Finally we will continue to expand our family activities and trips to increase community building and engagement amongst SHPFA families.
On behalf of our families and organization we recognize and thank the Roger J. Trinchero Family Foundation for sharing our vision of creating awareness of the importance of early childhood education, providing parent education, and providing an opportunity for three and four- year children to experience preschool and succeed.
